For every task, there is a tutorial…

You want to know how to go thru building a portfolio? That’s right – make & retool Revit templates, graphic standards and maybe you build a PC to (re)produce all the visual media.

I’m still here, I’m still working toward something – but telling the story properly has become more of an epic tale than a short story.

Want to produce solid content for a YouTube channel? That’s right – hours and hours of tutorials on animating video, OBS (for the future), audio, video production, logos, transitions, etc.

I’m beginning to think what the late great George Carlin said about starting your own path was right.

“It’s like… Have you ever started a path? No one bothers to start one. We don’t mind using the ones that are there. “Over here on the path…” D’ja ever take the time – start a path; go ahead. It’s a little hard; you have to hold the grass down yourself at first. “

When it’s all on you – the path from inception to completion has its own pressure – there’s a learning curve, the inevitable battle with ridding the grey matter of ignorance (sometimes the brain fights back) and failure is always an option. Several many, in the case of the glitch text above.

For me, I love getting crushed by the learning curve and unfamiliar software. It tends to lead to larger victories when you can pick up something fresh and turn it into something quickly. Hanging on to the newly learned information is tougher… a one-shot success in a program you’ve never used before is hardly a resume enhancement. Since I’ll be editing video in my future – maybe this one will stick.

Cheers.
