RESOURCES

Sharing sources of resources, inspiration & tools isn’t as common in the industry as you might hope. If you’re just starting out, or you’ve been at this for years like I’ve been – I’m showing all my cards. Some day I may include a studio tour, when/if I end up in a situation worthy of bragging on.

PODCASTS & RESOURCES

A Collection of the resources that I’ve been immersed in lately. If you see ‘Podcast & Chill’ appear on social media – there’s a 99% chance that it’s one of these sources.

Books
LIBRARY

A pretty extensive list of the books that line my shelves currently. If you’re on the search for knowledge of all things architecture, I’m sure that there’s something on this list for you.

DAILY CARRY

Or what used to be the daily carry. Now its Station #2, and the gear that I take with me while traveling…

TECH - THE PC BUILD

When it became abundantly clear that working from home was going to be necessary, and self-reliance on tools was necessary, this is what I built.

TECH - PROGRAMS & APPS

FABRICATION

Entry-level 3D printing that won’t break the bank. It won’t get you to museum quality pieces – but it WILL teach you a lot about fabrication & software.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Whether you’re taking site photos, filming, or sitting in a marsh waiting for nature to wander in – this kit can handle anything you throw at it.

DAILY USE TOOLS

WorkStation

In the grand scheme of making life as small as I can, the entire studio consists of:

  1. The PC Build + Cluster of USB Drives.
  2. iPad Pro 12.9 (Gen 1 + Cellular)
  3. iPhone
  4. iWatch to get the steps in.
  5. 2012 MacBook Pro + Secondary cluster of USB drives.
  6. IKEA drawer cabinet for cables, paper, archive drives, etc.
  7. Drafting tables liberated from a storage unit of a former client firm.

There’s no cause for printing so the 11×17 print/scan/fax capable unit sits unused.

All analog sketching tools have been replaced by the iPad and iPencil. Which is perfectly fine by me, given the editability of digital over analog sketching.

The old-school purists will likely look down on that approach, but I don’t have to buy any sketchbooks or materials that way either.

Adaptive reuse & side-cycling at its finest.
