BOOKS

I’ve never been one to throw out or resell books. I still have everything from the college courses that I’ve taken.

Much of my library has been converted to a digital platform for portability. My last flirtation with compressing life and prepping for ‘living small’ was to digitize my media library, to allow me to keep it, while maintaining information with the smallest footprint possible.

When I moved here over a decade ago, the moving company had to switch trucks at the state border because of the weight of my library conflicting with local regulations.

I’ve gone back and forth over an adequate way to share resources on this, and spent a lot of time developing page after page. I may never get to the end of the library. As far as #problems go – its a good one to have. “Oh no, I have too many inspirational resources & basis for knowledge.”

The Library

How It Started.

The list of books that began the journey. As a kid, I loved to draw. In middle school – I found a series of illustrations and more technical drawings that sparked an interest. The path began here.

Architectural History

Studying the history & evolution of the built environment is an important part of understanding how the world around us functions with the external influences on culture and form.

Architecture + Tech.

A short collection of reference materials & referential studies on the uses of technology in the profession and how we might push the envelope toward more productive solutions.

Architecture as Business

I’ve got that entrepreneurial spirit… so now what? My reading list for trying to answer those type of questions. The journey of a thousand steps begins with buying off this list.

Full disclosure – I started to catalogue, list off and write a blurb review of every book in my library. I’m roughly 30% complete, and its going to require a dedicated effort to complete, requiring several pages of web development and links. I’m still deciding the most efficient platform to convey this additional information.
