My inaugural project at MS&R began in 2006 as a full campus inventory and master plan development for Life University in Marietta, GA. The project began by field verifying 192 acres of campus facilities and beginning a plan that included:
The end result of the master planning was a fund raising brochure & presentation videos for a capital campaign. The grand vision of this chiropractic university was education and wellness across the global stage and a graduation program that included business classes on developing your own practice.
After we completed the visioning & capital campaign brochure. We began to look into the small projects that might be accomplished. To start, a Cafe in the Sports Science Building, and a path toward opening the outpatient clinic and system of organization of spaces in an irregularly shaped building.
The bulk of this exploration can be found here as I’ve included this in the multi-family housing section of this portfolio.
I fully understand that the graphics of this and some of the other projects aren’t up to par to today’s standards. These models were ‘stick built’ using base AutoCAD 2006, rendered in 3D Studio, with entourage added in Photoshop 13 years ago. No BIM, no V-ray, and none of the tools available today.
I’ve got models that go back to 1999, built much the same way for project visualization purposes. Before the software and the industry caught up, its accuracy and designing in 3 dimensions has always been the way that my brain functions. From my first job as an AutoCAD detailer in a small mechanical engineering company to today – the process remains the same. Get it designed in a way that works for both production and presentation drawings.
