Ridgedale Center
In 2015, I was part of the team that renovated 215,000 SF of existing mall spaces, with an addition of 91,500 SF containing a new Nordstrom anchor store. Project renovation budget – $100 Million
The Ridgedale Center was renovated to a more upscale aesthetic to reflect its more sophisticated patronage.
Much in the way that large projects are handled, my position on this renovation project was vignetted to include exterior development and detailing of the expansion.
Mall of America – Retail Expansion + Hotel & Office
In 2014 I began working for the DLR Group as a result of this project. As you can imagine – something of this size and scope needs a lot of hands.
Regrettably, a number of design elements that I had taken one had been lost out to budget constraints and ‘value engineering’. A few of them took and began the next 6 years of my career.
For a period of 8 months in 2013, while still operating as an independent consultant – I was working with the New Studio & Urban Outfitters to document future development spaces in various locations in North America.
The pace was challenging, the work kept me on the go constantly – but I managed to learn how much one guy with a laptop, camera and laser tape can accomplish in a compressed timeframe virtually anywhere with WiFi and an open power outlet.
